| Description: | Position Summary:
The KPCC Membership Department is looking for an intern to help with our marketing and outreach efforts, as well as our day-to-day administrative tasks. As a chief coordinator for the KPCC Street Team, the Membership Intern will help implement new initiatives and strategies to broaden our membership.
This is an unpaid internship. The intern must have a valid drivers license and access to his/her own vehicle, as she or he will be expected to travel to events on site. The intern will be reimbursed for parking.
This is an unpaid volunteer position.
Position Responsibility:
KPCC Street Team 70%
Our interns coordinate opportunities for KPCC to have a booth or table at community events, and volunteers help represent our station. The Street Team strengthens KPCC brand presence and increases first-time listenership and membership.
KPCC Membership 30%
The Intern will also support the KPCC Membership team by providing administrative assistance to fundraising initiatives and campaigns. This year will be an especially exciting time to join the KPCC fundraising team, as 2012 is an election year and many of our campaigns will center around the upcoming elections in the fall. The intern will get an insiders perspective on how we craft campaigns and achieve fundraising goals.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate who is interested in public media, marketing, fundraising, and/or outreach to diverse communities. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable acting as a representative for KPCC. Familiarity with KPCC and NPR programming is a huge plus.
Required Education and Experience:
College student or recent graduate
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Outgoing personality and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
Possess a positive customer service attitude
Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail
Experience with scheduling events and coordinating across departments
Problem solving abilities, trouble-shooting skills and ability to adapt to a variety of personalities
Familiarity working in an office environment
Familiarity with basic office equipment and Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and Word
Good telephone etiquette
Some administrative skills
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with event planning
Experience working in an office environment is a plus
Experience with SalesForce
Ability to speak another language is a plus

Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
